Caldo Pomodoro's garlic bread has won awards as best garlic bread in San Diego for a number of years. One of the owners of the restaurant (Fran) makes all of the sauces at Caldo Pomodoro. He believes in the slow cooking method, cooking his sauces for 10-12 hours stirring continuously, this takes some of the acidity out of the tomatoes, leaving you with a very sweet marina.
