An integral part of Carlsbad Food Tours 2024 goals for our tour company will be to increase the following: accessibility, security, sustainability, and inclusion.

Accessibility.

We are working to ensure that our tours are accessible to everyone. Our tours are great for all ages from kids to seniors. The tours are walking, and they are wheelchair accessible for those that have mobility issues. Let us know if you have special needs that we can accommodate for our tour.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was created in 1990 to ensure that people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else, and today, its guidelines extend to websites as well.  Ensuring our website is accessible increases the number of people who can access our tours and activities, and improves the quality of the user experience.

One of the guidelines for our website to be accessible is for it to be easily navigable and operable. This means the content is organized logically with headings, pages have descriptive titles, and the website has consistent menus on every page. According to the CDC, one in four U.S. adults has a disability, making accessible websites essential. If the person can easily navigate and understand all of the content on your website, they’ll be happy to do business with us.

FareHarbor Ticketing Agency is Carlsbad Food Tour’s digital ticket and website operator. FareHarbor’s Security Policy consists of the following information:  FareHarbor has been securely encrypted over SSL.  Their employees train in the importance of privacy and security and must adhere to a comprehensive security and data policy. FareHarbor runs in Amazon Web Services’ highly secure data centers. The FareHarbor application runs inside a Virtual Private Cloud, with individual hosts protected by firewalls.

Sustainability. Strategy 2024. Day-To-Day Operation Changes

• We are continuing to utilize paperless ticketing and eliminating paper waste! So that, we can check customer tickets on their smartphones.
• We are have eliminated paper handouts and converting to QR Codes
• Offer advice and provide information on how guests and employees can take advantage of environmentally friendly modes of transportation, like biking, train, and other public transport.
• Our tours are environmentally friendly walking tours.
• We keep our tours on the sidewalk as to lower the impact on local flora and fauna.
• We strive to eliminate single-use plastic waste by asking our customers to bring reusable water bottles.
• Going paperless with our marketing by focusing on digital platforms like social media and email marketing.
• Going digital with our photo offerings, to provide customers with digital photos of their experience.
• We have taken steps toward a more sustainable business, see how easy it is to put small measures in place. We feel great knowing that we have been taking steps to preserve, protect, and contribute to your beautiful area!
