Like Carlsbad, several communities across the country have been rediscovering historic downtowns as the center of civic life and a source of local and cultural identity. The Village and Barrio Redesign is all about rediscovering our town vision.
The City of Carlsbad seeks to develop a master plan for the downtown area, known as the Village, and the adjacent Barrio area. The master plan will be central to continued Village revitalization, Barrio recognition and enhancement, and overall connectivity between the two areas.
This website provides an online engagement tool that will complement the in-person workshops and other outreach for the Carlsbad Village & Barrio Plan.
This site is a place where community members can generate ideas, help others evolve their ideas, and ultimately prioritize the best ideas for the plan. It functions not only as a forum for collaboration, but also as a resource for informational materials about the project and planning process.
