Carlsbad Community Impact Report 2019

on January 8, 2020 | By Cherimarie Poulos
As the owner of Carlsbad Food Tours, I believe that what is good for the community is also good for business.  By supporting local charities you make your community a better place to live and play.  Carlsbad Community Impact Report 2019 includes the following local charity – support:

  • Feeding San Diego
  • Carlsbad Educational Foundation
  • Aviara Oakes Middle School
  • Sage Creek High School
  • Carlsbad Unified School District
  • UCSD Student Club
  • Helping Paws
  • Rancho Coastal Humane Society
  • SAY SanDiego
  • Battle Brothers
  • Mitchell Thorpe Foundation
  •  New Village Arts
  • TGIF Concerts in the Park
  •  Breast Cancer Society
  • ALS Association
  • Soroptimist International Oceanside-Carlsbad
  • Police Foundation and many other fine organizations.

Carlsbad Food Tours also recently became a Defender Level supporting member of the  Agua Hedionda Lagoon and the Discovery Center.

This year I personally volunteered as a Carlsbad Ambassador working with the Carlsbad Village Association.  It was a lot of fun helping with all the fantastic events in the village this year, like the Taste of Carlsbad, Pets on Parade, etc.
And as a fan of the arts, I also became a member of the Coal Carlsbad Oceanside Art League in downtown Carlsbad.  Coal Galleries is non-profit gallery has a wide variety of art featuring local artist., like me.

And believe it or not, one of my Christmas presents from my husband this year was a new license plate with MRS.CBAD on it.  So I would say, we are all about Carlsbad at Carlsbad Food Tours.

7 Reasons Why Supporting a Charity is Good Business

More businesses are discovering advantages of supporting charitable causes with corporate donations.  Here are 7 reasons why your company should support a charity:

1.  What is good for the community is good for your company

Supporting a local charity will build respect and your reputation in your community.  It will also make your community a better place to live and work. Giving back to your community will help to improve local parks, schools, making them a safer place to play and learn.

Charitable contributions have numerous benefits, but the most important one is obvious: you should give back to your community.

2.  Giving Back is also Good For You

One of the biggest benefit of having your business support a charity is the feeling you get from giving to others.  Small businesses helping each other can make the world a better place to live in.

3.  Increased employee morale/team building.

What a better way to rally your team than to get them involved in fighting for a good cause. When your company chooses to contribute to charities, it gives your company a bigger purpose then just to be making money.
