The Frazee family and generations of flower growers helped create what eventually became one of Carlsbad’s most recognizable attractions: The Flower Fields.
The Mellano family built a multigenerational flower-growing business connected to the region’s agricultural history.
Strawberry farming became another visible reminder that agriculture remains part of modern Carlsbad.
Today, visitors can still experience part of this agricultural tradition through flower fields, strawberry farms, lagoons, farmers markets, and local restaurants that celebrate California ingredients.
