Crackheads

Brunch with a sandwich, coffee, and cocktail, ocean and palm trees in background.

All-day breakfast, coffee, cocktails, and an unmistakable Village personality

Meet the Owner

Entrepreneur James Markham developed Crackheads as an unconventional breakfast and social-dining concept.

The restaurant’s playful name reflects its focus on coffee, breakfast, and the energy of starting the day. Its shipping-container design and large outdoor gathering space make it immediately recognizable in the center of Carlsbad Village.

Breakfast Beyond the Morning

Crackheads challenges the idea that breakfast must end before lunchtime. Its menu has featured breakfast sandwiches, avocado toast, coffee, brunch favorites, cocktails, and casual dishes served throughout the day.

The restaurant has continued evolving, adding evening service and new food collaborations while maintaining the relaxed character that first attracted guests.

The Signature Experience

Much of the experience takes place outdoors. Guests gather around picnic tables, order from the compact kitchen and coffee window, or relax near the fire feature.

Its location at Carlsbad Village Drive and State Street places Crackheads beside the weekly farmers market and in the middle of the Village’s pedestrian activity. Crackheads Carlsbad

Why It Matters

Crackheads represents the casual and creative side of Carlsbad dining. The restaurant transformed a compact corner into an active gathering place where locals can meet for morning coffee, weekend brunch, an evening cocktail, or an informal meal.

Its personality is bold, social, and unmistakably Carlsbad Village.
